Introduction

This is my blog showing my work throughout AS Media Studies.

So far I have learnt about the stages vital for producing a visual medium which is professional and unique.

I know that it is important to...

- Consider colour and props in settings to make sure that the scene is as realistic as possible. It should reflect the mood of the characters and be an indication of the events to follow. For example, a deep red may be used for the credits in a horror movie in order to imply death.

- The camera should be placed carefully in order to reveal the necessary parts of a clip. 'Dead space' should be avoided in any scenario. Considering the angle and how much of a character or prop is seen is crucial. Actors should not be cut off at the wrong point.

- The director needs to have a clear idea of what they are hoping to achieve. They must make sure that this goal is recognisable by the other members of team. You need to make sure that any costumes or props are prepared in advance and ready when needed.

- Similarly, settings need to be chosen in advance. Dates should be set for filming in specific locations. They must have been carefully picked (considering camera angles, lighting, technology required, availability etc.) so that there are no problems on the day.

- Actors should be fitting to their parts. To be realistic they must be the right age to suit the character. In addition, any uniforms used should be carefully researched before hand in order to make sure that they are recognisable and believable.
