Coen Brothers



Joel and Ethan Coen are American filmmakers who collaboratively write, direct, and produce.
Some of their biggest successes were:


1.  Fargo (2011)
A comedy-crime film about a pregnant police chief, and a car salesman who hires a pair of criminals to kidnap his wife.


2.  Blood Simple (1984)
A rich man discovers the truth behind his cheating wife. Lead by anger and jealousy, he hires a private investigator to kill her and her new man.


3.  True Grit (2010)
An American Western film about a drunken Marshal and a Texas Ranger who support a young women in finding the murderer of her father.


4.  O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
A comedy set in rural Mississippi during the Great Depression (1941), when two brothers escape from a chain gang at Parchman Farm. Loosely based on Homer's 'Odyssey'.


5.  No Country For Old Men (2007)
Near the Rio Grande, a hunter comes across some dead bodies, a stash of heroin, and over $2 million. 


6.  Raising Arizona (1987)
An ex-con and an ex-cop help themselves to a quintupelet, after not being able to have children of their own. The couple's lives suddenly get very complicated..


7.  Miller's Crossing (1990)
In an attempt to draw peace between warring mobs, Tom Reagan (an advisor to a Prohibition-era crime boss) gets caught up in the struggle.


8.  The Big Lebowski (1998)
'Dude' Lebowski gets mistaken for a millionaire. He calls the help of his bowling buddies to help seek compensation for a ruined rug.


9.  Barton Fink (1991)
A playwriter, Barton Fink, goes to Hollywood in an attempt to write a wrestling picture for Wallace Beery. Suffering from writer's block makes this a near to impossible task, especially when he comes across a number of distractions along the way!


10. The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)
As part of a stock scan, a naive business graduate is given the responsibility of being president of a manufacturing company.
